English Second Language Teacher

Position Title: Part-Time English Teacher

Location: Tacoronte, Tenerife North
Reports to: Head of English
Contract Type: Part-time: 25- 30 hours
Schedule: From 15:00 to 20:00 Monday to Friday and 5 hours on Saturday mornings

Role Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Part-Time ESL (English as a Second Language) Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to helping students develop their English language skills through interactive, engaging, and level-appropriate lessons. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young diverse learners and creating a supportive, student-centered classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver effective and engaging ESL lessons to students of varying ages and levels

  • Support learners in developing skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing

  • Adapt teaching materials to meet the individual needs of students

  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment

  • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback

  • Participate in occasional meetings or training sessions as required

  • Prepare students for Cambridge or equivalent exams levels Pre-A1 to C1

Requirements:

  • Native or near-native English proficiency

  • ESL teaching qualification (CELTA, TEFL, TESOL, or equivalent)

  • Previous experience working with children in an ESL setting

  • Strong communication and classroom management skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • EU work authorization or valid work permit (if relevant)

  • Fun and energetic person who enjoys working with children aged 3-12 years

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of CEFR levels (A1–C2) and Cambridge exams

  • Basic Spanish (helpful but not required)

  • Experience using digital tools in the classroom
