German Teacher

We are seeking a part-time German teacher to join our team starting September 7th, 2024, in Tenerife North (Tacoronte). The position entails working 8 hours every Tuesday and Thursday from 16:00 to 20:00. Position Overview: We are looking for a passionate and versatile teacher who can connect and empathize with students and inspire them to develop their language skills. The role involves working with children aged 5-18 years old, so energy, fun, and patience are essential. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team are also crucial. Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging, dynamic, and effective German lessons that meet the needs of students at all proficiency levels.
  • Create and maintain an inviting and safe classroom environment that fosters learning and encourages student participation.
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback on academic performance, behaviour, and other relevant areas.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to plan and organize educational events such as shows.
  • Prepare and administer assessments, including quizzes, tests, games, and final exams, to evaluate student learning and provide feedback.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student grades, attendance, and other relevant data.
Required Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (native level).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members.
  • Comfortable using technology, including Excel, Word, digital books, and the cloud.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and deliver effective lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team, taking initiative as needed.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in response to changing student needs and classroom dynamics.
  • Prepare students for the official  Goethe Exams.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience teaching German in an educational setting.
  • Familiarity with the Geothe syllabus
  • Strong commitment to professional growth and development.
  • Living in North Tenerife, preferably with a car.
