Piano Teacher (Part time 8-10 hours per week) – ABRSM Syllabus

We are seeking a talented and reliable piano teacher to join our institution to teach the ABRSM curriculum to primary and secondary students. The piano teacher’s responsibilities include assessing students’ needs and preparing lessons that will help them achieve their goals. You will prepare students for recitals, exams and competitions, and you will also teach music theory. To be successful as a piano teacher, you must demonstrate excellent instructional skills and patience. Piano Teacher Responsibilities: • Structure individual classes based on the student’s preferences and objectives. • Provide students with appropriate materials and resources. • Arrive on time for scheduled practice sessions, recitals, competitions, and other events. • Teach music theory in a fun and engaging way, and help students hone their sight-reading, memorisation and improvisation techniques. • Prepare students for exams, recitals, concerts and other events. • Motivate students, especially when they have difficulties and progress is slow. • Provide constructive feedback and adjust classes as needed. Piano Teacher Requirements: • A bachelor’s degree in music and a teaching certificate may be required. • Strong musical ability, as well as proven piano skills and knowledge. • Be able to speak English would be ideal, but not necessary. • Previous experience as a music teacher will be valued. • Fluent sight reading. • Patience and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Strong motivation skills. • Ability to identify strengths and weaknesses. • Build music department at LFT • Plan, prepare and develop piano videos for our social media platforms. We’re offering: • A part-time role from 16:00 to 20:00 Tuesday and Thursday • Starting January 9, 2024 • Permanent contract • One month of vacation plus academic vacations (Christmas, Carnival and Easter) • Salary negotiable depending on experience. • A friendly and motivating work environment.
